Meeting Notes, 12th Night, 2010
by HL Aelianora de Wyntringham, Guild Webmistress, and HL Kassandra of Dragon's Laire
We had about 11 people in attendance, some from far away. Very cool! We discussed the following:
- Note from the Guild Minister: HL Giana couldn't attend, but did send a note.
- AnTir West War: Sabrina de la Bere, who is running A&S at the war is looking for ideas for classes and teachers. So if you are going to that event and want to teach or take a class on a subject, let her know. Her email is sabrinadelabere@yahoo.com. The war runs 3 days long, so intensive series of classes can be taken (and taught).
- Charter and By-Laws: We passed out copies of the possible charter and by-laws for people to read. Some comments were as follows: teaching requirements for levels -- There is no Ithra in various places around the Kingdom, so perhaps it would be good to reword those sections to reflect this. Challenges at Kingdom level -- put into the by-laws that challenges at Kingdom events need to be announced, organized, and signed up for, at least a month before the event.
- Challenge Deputy: We need an overall challenge deputy for this Guild. This deputy will be in charge of collating and passing on the results from the various regional challenges. She/He will also refer those wanting to challenge to regional deputies, etc. We have had one person volunteer for this position. If anyone else wants to volunteer, do so now! Both Constace de Montbard and Halima volunteered to be regional challenge deputies for their areas. Bravo!
- Website: Website is humming along. The Web Mistress is going to reactive the BBS on the website soon, so we'll have a place to have threaded discussions and conversations. Please do consider joining in!
- Membership Database: This is coming along well. We decided at the meeting to set up the database so only SCA name and SCA barony/etc and challenge/level information are visible on the internet. All personal mundane identifying info (real name, address, email, etc) will be kept hidden from all but the guild admins. The database will eventually be searchable, so someone who is interested in a particular subject can find those in his/her SCA area who have challenged or taught that subject. And, of course, everyone can look up their level and challenge data at will.
- Guild Device: We need one! Please don't be shy about coming up with a device and submitting it at the K A&S meeting, or submit online to either Giana or myself.
- Largesse: Dame Arwen posted a few weeks ago about doing largesse for the Kingdom. Please contact her, or Countess Miranda, if you are interested in doing largesse. Pouches, coifs, cauls, wool hoods, bookmarks, necklaces and more are all welcomed for largesse. If we can get enough guild members working on these things, we could do a joint presentation at July Coronation for Pennsic largesse. Very cool!
- And finally: Challenges at Upcoming events. Perhaps Ursulmas (this depends upon if a challenge deputy is going and if we can get space and judges since it is relatively short notice). May Crown, we'll definitely have challenges. Perhaps at Kingdom A&S as well.
