Items Needed Per Guild Rank and Level of Knowledge
Level of Knowledge Expert Competency Working
Rank
Artisan 4 4 4
Craftsman 0 4 4
Journeyman 0 2 2
Senior Student 0 1 1
Junior Student 0 0 1

At Artisan rank, the items done at expert level of knowledge have to be from 2 types of media or sub-media, as do the items done at competency level for a total of 3 different types of media or sub-media. Therefore, for example, one can't do wood-embroidery at expert level of knowledge and woodwork-embroidery at competency, have to do wood-embroidery at expert and wood-metal at competency.

At Craftsman rank, competency has to be from 2 categories as does working. At Journeyman and Junior and Senior Student ranks there are no such requirements.

At Junior and Senior Student ranks the working items can be non-period appropriate. Everything after that, and the competency item at senior student level, must be period appropriate.

Number of Forms to Learn to Attain Various Rankings

At a minimum, one must attempt 13 different forms, at various levels of competency, to achieve the highest ranking in the guild (teaching and other work is also required, see the webpage on Guild Rankings for more information). The following chart may be helpful in mapping your own progress through the Guild ranks.

Please Note: The above chart is just an example, you do not have to take your first form all the way to artisan level, for example. That sort of decision is entirely up you. The chart is provided to help organize and plan your Guild challenges.
